Such dimensions are also of interest for software: memory and power efficiency (environmental), reduction of costs in software development and evolution (economic), and its use for general improvement of people’s lives (social). For well-informed decisions on each of these issues, we cannot simply handle them during the implementation of a project. They need to be reasoned about and their impact on each other and other requirements of the system needs to be studied from the early stages of software development. The goal of this dissertation is to propose an approach for sustainability requirements in what concerns assessment, prioritization and trade-off analysis.
