Breve descrição: Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) has been developed to facilitate the managers work by, for example, providing abstraction mechanisms to help modeling business processes. Nevertheless, in large-scale organizations building BPMN models may become a hard task, where complex process models are produced, which are difficult to understand and change. This may lead to an increase in costs of process execution and evolution. Thus, the effective management of complexity of the process models is vital. The aim of this dissertation is to propose a metrics framework for supporting the quantitative assessment of complexity of BPMN models. Also, an Eye-tracker device will be used to collect data to identify the parts of the models where more effort is needed for comprehension. Those metrics will be formally specified, implemented and incorporated in a BPMN modeling tool. The metrics will be validated with a set of real-world case studies.
